DRAWING-BASED MANUFACTURING
Steel casting and machining from one manufacturing base
Wontide manufactures steel castings in Laizhou, China, with in-house heat treatment and machining. A project can be reviewed for delivery as a cast blank or a machined casting. The manufacturing route follows the approved drawing and agreed technical requirements, including material condition, controlled dimensions and the documents needed for acceptance.

Shell mould casting for steel components
Wontide uses shell mould casting for steel components. Also called shell molding or resin-coated sand casting, this process forms moulds and cores from resin-coated sand in heated tooling. The tooling and casting requirements are reviewed against the component drawing before manufacture. The agreed route connects casting with heat treatment, machining and inspection for the required delivery condition.
Define the delivery condition
Identify the manufacturing stages included in your enquiry and any work to be completed after delivery. This establishes a shared basis for the quotation and technical review.
- Cast blanks with the agreed inspection and delivery condition.
- Heat treatment to the specified material condition.
- CNC machining of drawing-defined surfaces, bores and other features.
Set material requirements before tooling
Supply the complete material standard, grade and required heat treatment, including supplementary requirements. Chemistry and mechanical testing should follow the agreed specification rather than an assumed material substitution.
Connect machining to inspection
Mark machining datums, fits, critical dimensions and the required inspection records. Material verification includes spectrometric analysis; available inspection capabilities include tensile, impact, hardness, metallographic and dimensional inspection, including CMM. The tests and sampling required for your project are agreed during review.
Agree documentation and special examinations
PPAP support and EN 10204 3.1 inspection documentation can be discussed with the applicable material, tests, heat traceability and submission requirements. Where specified, third-party UT or MT inspection can be arranged to an agreed procedure, coverage, acceptance criteria and reporting scope. Arrangements, cost and timing are confirmed for the project.
Review quality-system information
Wontide’s IATF 16949:2016 certificate states a manufacturing scope covering iron and steel castings and sheet metal weldments. The certificate is available in the website downloads for supplier review. Product acceptance follows the approved drawing and project-specific technical agreement.
Specify finishing separately
Galvanizing and electrophoretic coating are arranged through external suppliers when specified. Define the finish, coating coverage, protected surfaces and acceptance requirements when requesting the quotation.
DEFINE YOUR DELIVERY CONDITION
Choose the scope your drawing needs
| Delivery condition | Manufacturing scope | Confirm before quotation |
|---|---|---|
| Cast blank | A casting supplied before final machining, with the material condition and inspection agreed for the drawing. | Define the casting requirements, machining allowances, reference features and any work to be completed after delivery. |
| Heat-treated blank | A casting heat-treated to the specified material condition before the machining operations left for later. | Agree the heat-treatment condition, required mechanical tests, inspection records and the machining still to be completed. |
| Machined component | A casting with heat treatment and drawing-defined machining included in the agreed manufacturing route. | Mark the finished datums, fits, critical dimensions and surface requirements; identify any operations remaining after delivery. |
These are possible project scopes, not interchangeable material or inspection conditions. The agreed drawing and specification control each order.

Company and quality evidenceBUYER QUESTIONS
Before you send your drawing
Which manufacturing processes are in-house?
Casting, heat treatment and machining are in-house. Wontide also has sheet metal fabrication and welding as a separate business line. The operations included in each casting project are defined by the drawing and quotation.
Can inspection documents be planned before the first sample?
Yes. Please specify required material records, dimensional reports, traceability, PPAP submission requirements and any special examinations during the enquiry. This allows the documentation and testing scope to be reviewed alongside manufacture.
START WITH YOUR DRAWING
Let’s review your part.
Send the current drawing revision, material specification, quantities and inspection requirements. We will review the manufacturing scope before confirming price, tooling and production timing.
